Southern Village's Summer Music Series

One of the many things my husband and I love about this area is all the free, outdoor, local music concerts. We figured out last year that you could listen to free music in the summer every Friday night, Saturday evening, Sunday morning, and Sunday evening. How great is that!?

So here is your Sunday night option:
Southern Village Summer Music Series

Every Sunday evening the stage on the green at Southern Village hosts a local band. The music is varied, the styles diverse, and the summer twilight hours are magical. You can bring food and beverages out from the local restaurants and Weaver Street market (we got some pizza) and they do sell concessions around the green.

We took C when he was young to see Tres Chicas. It was a slower band, more acoustic, but quite lovely (and very popular in this town). We wrapped C in mosquito netting while he was there to protect his skin, but that was the only problem we had. Can't do anything about those NC summer mosquitoes. There were kids of all ages running around, having fun, and dancing. The fireflies were twinkling, and it felt good to be in NC for the summer.
