Brier Creek Toddler Playground - Raleigh

A fun park for the little ones to explore from Sarah C.:

Thanks to a reader tip, my husband, D and I recently spent an overcast day exploring the toddler play area at Brier Creek Community Center. It's a great place for the little ones to explore. All the equipment is in bright primary colors and set on rubberized surface. The majority of the pieces are low to the ground making it easy for even crawlers to navigate some of them.

The one negative of this playground is no shade. I definitely recommend choosing early morning, late evening or an overcast day, like we did, to avoid sunburn and hot equipment. There is a very nice covered picnic area adjacent to it as well as bathrooms. Note the bathrooms do not have diaper changing stations.

For older children, there are large grassy fields next to the toddler area which would be great for running around, kicking a ball or flying a kite. A playground with larger equipment is a short walk up the sidewalk next to Brier Creek Elementary School. I was a bit unclear from the signage if it's technically "school use only" but did see other families enjoying it during our visit which was a non-school day. The school is year round and adjacent to the Community Center so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
